LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The 2012 Rice Leadership Development Program class is in Arkansas through today observing rice farming practices and processing in the nation's largest rice-producing state.  The visit caps off a weeklong study session that included visits to the CME Group trading floor and John Deere's World Headquarters.

Class members yesterday completed workshops focusing on personal development skills, met with executives from Producers Rice Mill, toured the Arkansas Rice Research and Extension Center to view the latest rice research developments, and met with rice farmer George Dunklin, Jr. at Five Oaks Lodge to observe conservation practices.  Today, the group visited with executives from Riceland Foods and traveled to S & D Farms, where they met with, fellow alumni, Kirk Meins to examine furrow irrigation of rice.
