USA Rice Federation Attends The Rice Trader's 6th Annual Rice Trader Americas Conference

MIAMI -- USA Rice Federation staff last week attended The Rice Trader's sixth annual Rice Trader Americas Conference. The event examined rice markets and the trade outlook in the Americas.  Topics ranged from "Sustainable Rice Production and the Impact of Climate Change" to "The Future of Rice Production in the Americas."

The United States Department of Agriculture's Mike Dwyer provided analysis on the global financial markets and how agriculture worldwide is an excellent long-term investment.  The Rice Trader's President/CEO Jeremy Zwinger said economic "high prices follow low prices", noting that the current decline in rice production should lead to higher rice prices in the future.  Dr. John Leeper, from The RiceCo, won the TRT Rice Americas annual award for his work in research and development of new product concepts in rice crop protection.  The Rice Trader will hold its annual World Rice conference in Bali, Indonesia in September.
